Applying to Other Australian Tertiary Institutions
To expand your horizons, consider the full range of diverse and often specialised courses available at Australia's 36 publicly funded and two private universities. Universities around Australia welcome applications from interstate. Websites for all Australian universities can be reached via links on the Universities Australia website.
Applications for most undergraduate courses are processed through the tertiary admissions centre in each state. Information and closing dates are given below. Interstate guides may be purchased over the counter from TISC. Please also see the Australian 2008 Year

New South Wales
and Australian Capital Territory
Applications for undergraduate courses
at the participating institutions are made through the
Universities Admissions Centre (NSW & ACT) Pty Ltd (UAC).
Northern Territory
Applications for all undergraduate courses and postgraduate courses by coursework for Charles Darwin University are made through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).
Queensland
Applications for all undergraduate courses at Queensland Universities and full-time diploma and advanced diploma courses at TAFE Queensland Institutes, as well as courses at the Australian College of Natural Medicine, the Australian Maritime College , QANTM College and the Queensland Institute of Business and Technology, must be made through the Queensland
Tertiary Admissions Centre Ltd (QTAC).
South Australia
Applications for most South Australian university and TAFE SA courses must be made through the
South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC). Also, SATAC processes applications for higher education courses for Charles Darwin University in the Northern Territory .
Tasmania
There is no centralised admissions centre. For undergraduate admission to the University of Tasmania contact the
University
of Tasmania. Applications for admission to the
Australian Maritime College apply direct to the
college.
Victoria
Applications for full-time TAFE certificate IV, diploma, advanced diploma, associate degrees, undergraduate degrees and graduate entry education courses at most Victorian universities, TAFE institutes and some private providers must be made through the Victorian
Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC).
National
Open Universities Australia registration is available year-round, with study commencing in March, June, September and December. TAFE units are self-paced and may be started at any time.
